Weigh in Wednesday

Good morning! I'm writing this post with one hand with Harper on my lap, watching the youtube video of someone opening surprise eggs. She's obsessed with them. She was sick last night but seems okay so far today.

Weigh In Wednesday

When I began this post, I had no intention of weighing in. I am having some...digestive...issues this week. It's not been good. In the matter of 2 days the waist of my scrub pants went from fine to tight. I KNOW I didn't gain a bunch of weight over 2 days. I didn't eat well, but I know it wasn't THAT bad. I don't know what the deal with my stomach is, but I'm hoping it straightens out soon!

The scale says 164.4. A gain of 3.8 pounds. I know it's not right, but that's what it says today.

This weekend Casey and I went to the city for the night for a little getaway. We stayed all night and went to a really nice dinner at Thandi's, an Indian restaurant I believe. I had a yummy chicken stir fry and Casey had a beautiful steak. I had a pretty indulgent weekend. I needed it! We went to massage addict and I got a really good back and neck massage. It's really confirmed for me that my headaches are at least partly caused by extreme muscle tension in my neck. I plan to go back soon.

Our mission when we were in the city was to find a kitchen table. Mission accomplished!

I started turbofire last week. I got 3 days done so far. I worked 12 hour shifts on Monday and Tuesday and had a pretty decent headache by the time I got home at 8:15 on Monday so decided to forego my workout. Tuesday I came home to a sick baby girl. She seems to be better today, so far. I'm just going to continue with turbofire, doing the best I can. No one can do it perfectly. That's life.

Today is the first day of my mixed Beachbody Challenge. I'm really excited for my group. I can't wait to see the results we get! It's my second attempt at a real beachbody challenge. I'm hoping to improve on the last one.

In other news, I got a new pair of workout shoes while we were in the city and I'll be breaking them in today!

How was your week??

  2. I am so excited you are co-hosting this blog hop now!! :) You are doing so great--don't let the scale freak you out, listen to yourself and your body that is telling you that you KNOW a gain of 3.8 isn't right. Your trip to the city sounds so fun!

    1. Thank you so much :) This always happens when we go to the city. It's usually because of salt. I never eat fast food, there isn't any on our island really. So when I do eat out, it hits pretty hard.

  3. Thandi's is AMAZING. Not sure if you like Thai or not, but when I was in Saint John a few weekends ago, we went to Splash and OMG, SO SO SO GOOD!

I wouldn't sweat the gain! We all get those indigestion issues sometimes!

  5. I'm guessing it's salt from the Indian food? I know that's how it is with Chinese.

Regarding the neck/shoulder tension leading to headaches you should look into the Alexander Technique. The physical therapist worked on that with me; I don't know if a massage therapist would be familiar with it.

    1. It could be the indian food for sure, though it seemed rather fresh. I'll look up that technique. I'm willing to try anything at this point.

  6. Just think of how the weight loss will look next week. :) I hope you feel better soon. I started to see a chiropractor and it helped me with my muscle tension and migraines.

BTW... I love the kitchen table!

  7. How do you like turbofire? Have you done it before? (I'm new around here!) Sounds like you have your hands full and still getting stuff done. Hope the digestive issues go away soon!

    1. I love Turbofire! It's sooo much fun! I've done bits and pieces of it in the past, but never the whole program. I'm pumped about it this time!
