Weigh in Wednesday {GYSTS14 Recap & Rocktober goals!}

Good morning everyone!

We're back from our vacation, and I have to say, I ate a lot of food. I'm working on a recap post for that, coming soon!

I almost decided to not weigh in, mostly because I knew what the scale was going to say. It wasn't going to be good. But you know what? I DID THAT to myself, I need to OWN UP and FACE IT!

By the time monday rolled around and we were preparing to drive home, I could feel my body being like what the heck did you do, woman?! I enjoyed myself, thoroughly. And you know what? I don't have a problem with that. It's normal to indulge and gain weight on vacation. I'm not so hardcore as to not allow myself to have a pass for vacations. The thing is, I have to be prepared to work to lose what I gained. And I am.

So, what did my weigh in look like?

Height: 5'3"
Last Week: 166.8
This Week: 168.6
Change: +1.8 Pounds
Total Loss: 41.4 Pounds

Actually, not as bad as I expected. I guess I prepared myself for a good 5 pound gain. Thankfully it wasn't that much!

Weigh In Wednesday

And, I thought I'd take this opportunity to recap my goals from September with Ash's SYSTS14 Challenge.

1. Lose 3 pounds. Fail.

I don't know what I was thinking, making this goal, knowing that I was going on vacation the last 4 days of the month. Here's to smarter goal setting in the future!

2. Drink 90 oz of water a day. Fail.

I did make a conscious effort, but it didn't happen. It was the night shifts that did it. I really can't be guzzling water at 5 am, without getting realllllly nauseated. Yuck.

3. Continue my streak on MyFitnessPal. Check!

246 days and counting!

4. Get 30 minutes of exercise daily, and post it to IG with #GYSTS14. Sort of...

I don't know what's wrong with my brain, but I didn't post it to Instagram very much at all. I think part of it was because it was dark or nearly dark every time I went out for a run/walk and it wouldn't have made a good photo. I did, however, actually get my 30 mins in every day. That's 92 days in a row! Woot!

SO, this month, Jess from Operation Skinny Jeans is doing a Rocktober challenge, AND Desiree from Finding The Skinny Geek Within is doing a Stay Away From The Tricks and Treats challenge too! Challenges galore! Yay! I'm loving the challenges, they help keep me on track! Go check out their blogs if you want in too!

So, what are my goals for October?

1. Lose 3 pounds.

Seriously. I need this one this time!

2. Continue my streak on MFP.

Obviously. If I lost it, I would cry.

3. Continue to get 30 minutes of exercise every single day.

I wish I could say I were shooting for a year, but I know that at  some point, I'll be sick or get stuck at work for 16 hours (I was sick one time during the last 92 days, but somehow managed to drag myself from my bed and walk down the road without dying).

4. Sink my teeth into P90!

I'm very excited about this program. I know it'll be challenging, but in a way that I can actually do! Yay!

5. Get my eating in order.

NO BINGES!!! NONE!!!! Treats are allowed, but binging is not.

6. Get 80 oz of water a day.

Let's see if I can do it this month!

What are your goals for October???

    1. I did give myself an out for eating, but after a while my body felt like I really over did it, and all I wanted was a sweet potato, broccoli, and a grilled chicken breast! haha!

  3. Those goals are great! and very attainable, you just have to work at it. As for the gain, it's a minor set back while you where on holiday's. Personally I'm impressed that it wasn't more, I know if it was me, it would have been. So good job!
I'm going to head over to Finding the Skinny Geek and Operation Skinny Jeans to check out these challenges, may be joining you in them as I really need the motivation.

    1. Thanks! I couldn't even get into some of the positions it took to do some of the moves in p90x. I'm hoping p90 is a little simpler!
