Living Room Design For Chairish.com
Hello all!
Today, I'm excited to be writing for chairish.com! I was really quite interested when I got an email form them, and had to check them out immediately. They buy and sell really cool vintage furniture! I've never really seen anything like this online, so I thought it was awesome! So, I'm going to be designing a room around one of the rugs that they have for sale.
I had a really hard time choosing from the rugs that they had for sale, because there are so many really nice ones! I finally decided on this beauty, because I thought it would be a really good challenge for me, since I'm not a huge fan of yellow. The fact that I'll be decorating a brand new house in a few months is what made me decide to challenge myself. I know I shouldn't be scared of yellow in room design, because it can be a really beautiful colour, so here goes nothing!
I'll be using Polyvore to create a visual of my room!
So?! What do you think? I'm loving it! If you've read my blog at all, you'll know that I live on a small island in the Atlantic Ocean, and the sea is a part of my soul. I thought that the yellow in the rug was absolutely gorgeous with the navy blue accent colours! The world map is something I've always wanted on my wall, to put pins in places I've been.I'm not a fan of the pillows that come with the couch, so I'd change them out for some cute ones.
The awesome accent chair I also found at Chairish.com! They have so much great stuff!
The Polyvore clip didn't add the furniture, but it comes from Home Hardware Home Furniture.

Oooooh I love this scheme :) You're right, the navy and yellow are awesome together.
