Fitness Friday

Hello lovelies!

It's time for Fitness Friday again! The weeks go by so fast! Holy smokes! I'm joining up with ALG Uninterrupeted for the linkup. Head on over to her blog and check out the links!

It's been a busy week in the Benson household! I ended up having to go away on Tuesday and again today for appointments in the city. I've only had one work day this week, but I've been trying to get caught up on housework and blogging because I've got a busy couple of weeks ahead of me.

I'm trying really hard to utilize my Erin Condren Life Planner to get my life in order and keep up with everything. So far so good! I've joined a group on Facebook called We Love EC! Its awesome for ideas about planning and time management. I'm hoping to work out a good solid plan by next week and have something to report next Friday.

As for my fitness this week, it's been okay. Monday I went for a run that ended up being my best run yet. I started with my 5 minute warmup (as per usual) and then ran 5, walked 3, ran 8, walked 2, and ran 10! I was totally stoked! I can't remember the last time I ran 10 minutes straight, if ever. Maybe a couple times when I did the Running Room clinic in January of 2007. Maybe.

I'm continuing to use the c25k app for running, but I never do what it says. For starters, I don't stop at the end of the program. I go back and run the last run over again. Whatever it takes to get me to 5 K. Usually that would be 5, 8, 5, 5 with 2 min walks in between. The program would have me do 5, 8, 5. I wanted to challenge myself to run the 5 km so I did. Just my way.

My eventual plan for running is to get to running 10 mins and walking for 1. I don't have any desire to be a long distance runner. Not in the near future anyway. I am actually enjoying 5km runs and I want to continue to enjoy them.

The Terry Fox run is this Sunday and I think I might do it! I'm excited! I thought I was working for it but I'm not. Yay!

Otherwise, all I've had time for all week is walking. Yesterday I woke up at 3:30 am and could not get back to sleep for the life of me, so I got up at 5 and took Luna for a walk before work. Nothing like a 12 hour shift after not sleeping.

How was your week? Did you meet your fitness goals? What's your fitness plan for next week?

  1. Beautiful photos Winter. Such beautiful places to run!

I looked at getting an EC Planner, but HOLY CRAP. I cannot justify spending $100+ on one, especially with shipping over $30 to Canada. Seriously!? I actually e-mailed and complained.

  2. I'm totally happy with being a 3-mile runner for the rest of my life too. Anything beyond that and I start getting aches and pains. No thanks!
