Fitness Friday

I've been such a slacker lately.

Well, not really.

I've been working a whole bunch since I got home from our little vacation on sunday. I've barely had a moment to do anything productive. My poor house is a wreck. I did four 12 hour day shifts mon-thursday, so now I'm trying to catch up with everything. Thankfully Casey is really helpful and has done laundry and dishes.

This morning I finished a couple projects I meant to do before I left last week, but you know how that goes!

As for working out, well, it's been taking place in the form of walking. A lot.

I got a run in on tuesday night, after work. I was stupid and ran up a huge hill on my 6 minute interval. I felt like I was going to die. It felt even worse the next day. I was completely run down at work. I think it had something to do with the fact that I worked until 7:30 and didn't get out for my run until almost 9. Then tried to go to bed. Well I hardly slept after that. I think that maybe 8 is my cut off point for runs. If I don't get out before that, I should just walk.

Today I did PiYo define: upper body. It went well. I actually did it while Harper was up and playing in the living room. She climbed on me a bit but other than that it was successful. That makes things a bit easier. If I can actually workout while she's awake, I might do it in the mornings more often.

That's something I really need to start aiming for. Working out in the morning. Especially if I'm not planning on running in the evening. I love running in the evenings, so I think I'll not change that, but my PiYo workouts might be, well, more successful (seeing as I'm hardly doing them) if I did them in the morning. That means going to bed earlier and getting up. I don't know if I can handle that.

This week my goal for myself is to schedule my workouts. I'm always kind of winging it, so most often, it doesn't get done the way I'd like. So, when I sat down to plan this weeks meals this morning, I planned out my workouts this week too. I hope this works!!

As for food, tonight we're going out to celebrate our 4th anniversary but after that, I'm determined to eat healthy for the whole week. We've got friends coming to the island next weekend and I'm planning on cooking up lots of yummy things! Better be extra good before that!

  1. Did you like PiYo? I am down to just walking and some modified strength training but I love it the month I did it! Can't wait to get back to it! Scheduling workouts is tough--can't wait to hear how that goes for you this coming week! Have a great weekend!

    1. I do like it. My wrists hurt some though. I hope it improves as I get better. :)

  2. I'm doing PiYO in the morning and loving it. I find getting up early has made me more awake at work during the day. Great way to start the day! :)

    1. I love to sleep so much more. And I don't sleep well so it's always valued!
