Getting Fit With With Your Pup! {& Weigh in Wednesday}
First of all, I'm linking up with Heather, Ash, and Erin for Weigh in Wednesday!
This I have been trying so hard to get in my 3L of water that I committed to for the challenge that Shannon at Tatlock's Truth is running for the month of June. I've been getting over 2 L a day, but I'm finding if I drink too much more than 2-2.5L I'm up all night peeing...so that's no good at all. I'm attempting to get more water in before lunch time, since that's the time I usually get less. Here's to that!
I'm very happy to report that I'm down 1 pound this week. I really didn't think the scale was going to move at all this week, but I'm thankful that it did. I hope this means I'm out of this rut, and back on a roll!
What's any better than having a partner to get fit with?!
Well, when you have dogs, you've got the perfect partners!
Dogs need plenty of exercise every day, so if you've got a dog, you've got a great reason to get out and exercise.
If you're just beginning, take your pooch out for a walk every day! Walking is a great form of exercise, and it's easy too. Even if you're just going to the corner and back at first, it's a start. Remember the saying, 'No matter how slow you go, you're still lapping everyone on the couch!' Keep that in mind!
I am the fur mama of 2 dogs.
Max is an almost 13 year old german shepherd, rottweiler, husky mix. He can't go as far as he used to be able to, so when I go running or on long walks, he usually stays home.
Luna is a 2 year old Goldendoodle that is a huge challenge for us. She has so much energy, and gets in to trouble all too often, messing on the floor, eating toys and clothing (and our leather couch), and running away when she's not tied.
On my days off, as long as its not pouring rain, I start the day off with a walk with Harper in the stroller, and with both Max and Luna. We usually head down to the beach and back with is just under 3 kms down and up the hill. When I work, we usually head out on an evening stroll. I've become extremely good at handling 2 large dogs and a stroller! They've been really good and learned to walk right with us.
Luna has become my running partner. My friends can't always come running, but Luna is always available! I swear, she makes me run faster.
It makes me feel like a better fur mama when I get them both walked every day. I'm sure they feel better too!

Love this! So glad you introduced us to your pups! I have a 2 year-old Bernese Mountain Dog and she keeps me busy for sure! Love that she's always up for running. :)
ReplyDeleteYour dog is so gorgeous! :)
DeleteGreat job on your loss, we lost the same amount this week! I LOVE your dogs :) We have a little fur baby ourselves, and she needs exercise! I love to walk her :)
ReplyDeleteGreat loss! I love doggies! Yours are so cute!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your loss girl!!! My puppy is 8 months old--and he is so strong! I take him on runs and walks, and I'm just dreaming of the day he doesn't try to take out my shoulder to chase a squirrel!!
ReplyDeleteThe better 'exercised' I keep my dogs, the less they chase after distractions like that. Dogs are super strong!
DeleteWe have a 10 month old Rottweiler. She loves to run with my husband. I am a walker (at the moment) so I think she feels jipped when she has to go with me :) My goal is for her active self to help my inactive self lose 75 pounds (her current weight). @losingmypuppy.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteExercise is exercise! I'm sure she appreciates it. Good luck with your journey! :)
DeleteNo pets for us, but I think it is great that you are finding ways to include your entire family in exercise. Great job on the loss:)
ReplyDeleteMy dog is lazier than I am! But I do like the fact that she pushes me to get out and walk.
ReplyDeleteHaha, mine are the opposite of lazy! Always wanting to go. :)
DeleteLove this! I always love working out with my kids so it makes sense to workout with the furry kiddos too!
