What's The Plan? Weigh in Wednesday

I've been watching what I eat faithfully for over 3 months now. I feel like I'm making a good habit out of it now.

I have goals set for myself for my weight loss, and I believe they're achievable. I even talked them over with Casey and he agrees. I make short term and long term goals for myself.

Right now, my short term goals consist of 5 pound increments. I feel like they're small and manageable. As for the long term, I would like to lose 15 more pounds between now and the end of January. From where I'm standing now, it seems doable.

Actually, in January I set a goal for myself to lose 25 pounds this year. So far I've lost 15. I'm very happy with this progress. So, my 15 pounds between now and the end of January seems reachable, seeing as it is a half a pound a week between now and then. That's what I've been doing mostly, is losing half a pound per week or a little more.

When I think about my fitness/workout regimen I know it is lacking quite a bit.

I know that I can't just not get out there and get moving, and expect to keep losing weight every week. That being said, I think I move a fair amount anyway, before counting walks or runs. I can get 10 000 steps logged on my FitBit without going for a run. I am on my feet a lot at work, and when I'm home I'm chasing a toddler and cleaning my house.

Theres the quote I see all over Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest, and it says:

Abs are made 80% in the kitchen, 20% in the gym.

Or something like that.

I feel like now that I have a pretty good grip on how I have to eat and log everything, I need to get a grip on my fitness.

I've already begun, by starting the C25K program. I thought it might be best to start with one thing, and then build on that, once I get used to doing it. I think I would like to start doing some weight training, maybe towards the middle of the summer, once I get used to running.

So I guess that's my plan for the time being. I'm sure it'll change again, but I like having a goal to work towards. I feel like it keeps me focused.

Moving on to Weigh in Wednesday. Linking up with Heather, Ash, and Erin!

I am happy to repeat that I'm down another 0.8 pounds. That actually puts me at a whopping 30.6 pound loss since about a month after having Harper (March 2013). I'm super happy with this because to be honest I never thought I would be so successful at losing weight. I am so thankful for the support that doing this weekly linkup has given me.

Looking at this number, it leaves me about 25 pounds to lose to be at the goal number I have had in the back of my head forever. As a total goal weight. Awesome!

What are your health/fitness goals for yourself? Do you have a rigid workout schedule, or do you just sort of wing it?

How was your week? Did you do as well as you would have liked?

  1. You are doing AMAZING Winter! You should be SO SO SO proud. :)

The 80% in the kitchen and 20% what you do is SO true. I've been working on the 20% portion just recently. Even getting out for a walk has been good for me. :)

  2. I've been walking 2 miles a day pretty faithfully. I know that may not seem like much to some but I reached a mini-goal this week:

  4. Great job and attitude!

I have my goals broken up in 10%/25 lb increments. There's about 16 lbs until I hit the next one. My goal for the year is to reach my goal weight of 130 lbs. The beginning of next year I want to be in maintenance mode to finish off my second year on this journey.
