Weigh In Wednesday

I'm currently feeling like the biggest cow in the world. I don't know why I can't keep myself together in the face of weight loss.

I have one theory, at least, and that is that I'm not really in the game 100% because I'm leaving in 8 days for our vacation, and I'm just giving it at half steam. I have been exercising very regularly, I'm happy with that at least. I just can't seem to get my eating together.

I can do super awesome until about 4 PM when I'm starving and dinner isn't for another hour at least, and I just can't take it anymore. A couple days ago, at 4 PM, I ate a couple cups of fruit, some whole grain nacho chips with salsa, and then I was like, oh look, popcorn.

We got a giant tin of delicious popcorn for Christmas. I can't help myself. It's so good. There are three kinds. One had white/milk chocolate and caramel on it, one is kettle corn, and the other is caramel. Honestly, I haven't even eaten one kernel of the caramel one. The chocolate one is gone. Lord help me. But that kettle corn is still there and it's so good. Sweet and salty, how can you beat that? Save me!

Yesterday, I managed to stay away from the popcorn, eat really quite well, ran and went to badminton. I even tracked everything. Yay!

I got on the scale this morning and haven't changed any. That's a REALLY good thing, considering all of the popcorn I've eaten...

As for exercise, I've been attempting to make a schedule for myself. This week is sort of a practice run. I'll tell you all about it when I get it down right. But for now, this is my schedule.

Monday
-Hockey Skills {PM}

Tuesday
-C25K {AM}
-Badminton {PM}

Wednesday
-TurboFire 30 {AM}
-Zumba {PM}

Thursday
-C25K {AM}
-Hockey {PM}

Friday
-TurboFire 45 or 55 {AM}

Saturday
-C25K {AM}

Sunday
-Hockey {PM}

Here's my reasoning behind this schedule:

Monday is hockey skills night, and it's pretty extreme. I'm usually still sore/tired/dead from Sunday's hockey. Tuesday I put C25K in the AM because it's not guaranteed that I'll get to badminton. Wednesday I did the same with putting a 30 min TurboFire workout in the AM, because again, it's not guaranteed that I'll get to Zumba in the evening. Friday I have nothing else, so I put a longer workout on that day. Saturday is my 3rd day of the C25K week, and Sunday we spend time with family, so I don't want to do anything in the AM.

Anyone have any constructive criticism? I know that it's all cardio. I'm not really at a place in my life where I want to have a specific day to work out specific parts of my body. Right now, I want to work on burning calories, and cardio is a great way to do that.

All this will change once Hockey is over and once I return to work. I probably won't have time to work out twice a day, but until then, I'm going to take advantage of my maternity leave and do just that.

Here's hoping I don't sabotage myself before the cruise! I'm really looking forward to it, and I know that I'm not going to strut my stuff in a bikini (as if). I'm going to spend some quality time with Casey, eat some crazy yummy food, soak up some rays, and even spend some time with Casey's grand parents.

I have however, decided to continue my C25K program while on vacation, instead of pausing it. I can run at Casey's grandparents house, and the ship will have a track or treadmill or both. It's only 3-4 runs while I'm gone. I should be able to handle that!

Anyway, sorry this post is super wordy. If you're still with me, thank you!

Until next week!

  1. I think as long as you are being active it's all good. Vacations always feel like a time to be less restrictive when eating and that's OK, I would totally hate to go on vacation and have to calorie count, at the same time I would hate to come back from vacation and have to undo some major eating damage. (pardon the run on sentence lol). I played indoor soccer for years but now with the baby and marathon training I just can't fit it in....I so missed team sports!!

    1. Thanks for stopping by!

      I won't have access to the internet much while i'm on vacation, so keeping track on MFP would be kinda hard! I'm just gonna have a great time and deal with it when I get home.

  2. I wish Moncton had a hockey league for adult women who want to learn to play. I might have to look into it more closely.

    Sounds like a great plan! Honestly, whatever works for you is what you need to do. If that means you don't have time to lift weights, then so be it! Do what works for you. :)

  3. Sounds like a great schedule. I had to spend some time focusing on just cardio for a bit too just to get in the swing of things so nothing wrong with that! Enjoy your cruise!

  7. Well I'm no expert, but I think you are doing very well.
    I have trouble with my eating a lot too. Even with using My Fitness Pal.
    I have a 1200 calorie allotment and the other day I was like -799! lol
    So, the only thing I can say is it happens. Just keep yourself held accountable and do better the next day.

    No change is good to me. It's when the weight goes back up that I start beating myself up.
