Weigh In Wednesday

Monday I got on the scale and it said that I was up 2 lbs since before Christmas. I was okay with that, since that's sort of what happens when you eat a lot. 

Tuesday I got on it and it said I was back to where I was before Christmas. Reason? I drank a ton of water the day before and I would say that I desperately NEEDED it. 

I definitely indulged over Christmas, I wasn't planning on denying myself. I think that I normally gain a bit over the holiday season, but this year I didn't. I think the difference is this year, I went to hockey whenever I could. You burn a ton of calories at hockey. Just so you know. 

I made some goals for this year, you can see them here if you like. Basically, my two fitness/weight loss goals were to lose 25 lbs and to run a 5K this year. 

I've never done a real race before. A couple years ago, I saw something advertising the colour run on Pinterest. I thought that would be so fun, but it never came anywhere near me. I checked out the Canadian Colour Run and it's coming to Moncton!! I think I'll sign up!! It doesn't have a date yet but I'm quite serious about this. Serious enough that 2 days ago (BEFORE NYE) I started the C25K plan on the treadmill. Lets DO this! 

As for the 25 lbs, I know it's not really a high goal, but I want to lose it and keep it off. Never see it again. That means I need to do it right. 

Know what? I think it's great that I didn't make 'resolutions', but I made goals instead. I didn't wake up today, the first day of the year and start my crazy low cal diet and burned 1000 calories. Today, Casey didn't have to work, so I got to spend the whole day with family. It was awesome. But, after today, I'd like to track every single day until I leave on vacation! Call that a mini goal. 

And then, guess what? I'm frigging sick. I've got a cold. That's all I'm calling it, because I'm not even going to let it get me down. 

In other news, we finally booked our cruise. We leave in 2 weeks! Woot woot! So, I'm gonna get my game on before that, then have fun on my vacation, then get back at it when I get home. I'd like to lose a bit before I have to go back to work in March. I'm so excited to be warm! It's SO COLD here in Canada! 

Oh, this past weekend, Casey and I went on an overnight trip to the city and I scored myself some new kicks for half price! Also, got new birks for basically half price too. And a few new hockey gear things. Bonus! 

Anyway, sorry this has been a mess of random thoughts, it's late, I'm sick and totally ready for bed. I hope you all had a great NYE! We had a great night. We spent it playing Quelf with some great friends. Can't get any better than that!

  1. I signed up for the Colour Run too!!!! So exciting!!!!

    That's a great mini-goal. I've been so overwelmed lately, I haven't had a chance to think about goals. I need to get on that, stat!

    1. I didn't realize you could sign up already! I can't actually sign up until I know my work schedule. I'll sign up when I know!
