Weigh In Wednesday

Linking up again this week for Weigh In Wednesday :)

This week has honestly gone by in such a blur that I hardly remember what happened. I made a trip to Calais, ME to pick up a couple packages on Thursday. On friday, I went out with some friends to wing night. I wasn't feeling great, but I went and ate. We all came back to my house and hung out for a bit. By this time I was feeling worse. That night I was up half the night, not feeling very good. It has lasted until now, and I'm starting to feel somewhat better.

Monday I felt ok enough to go to hockey. I took my new Polar FT4 for a test run, and I wasn't disappointed. I can't even say I gave it my all, because on some of the skating drills the arches of my feet hurt so bad I had to stop. I am getting better at skating backwards though! And I can finally stop on both left and right skates.

I haven't been eating great this week, because I quite frankly haven't felt like eating at all. Everything gives me heartburn and then feels like it's stuck in my throat. So, I've basically been eating whatever, whenever. I made a pretty tasty 'Unstuffed Cabbage Roll Soup' the other day and have been eating that for lunch. It's only 200 calories for a nice big bowl.

I've felt dehydrated since this whole thing started, so I've been trying to rehydrate myself as best I can. Today I feel pretty good, but I forced myself to drink 3 litres yesterday, and by the end of the day I was so nauseated with every sip of water that I just couldn't anymore.

I got on the scale  yesterday, thinking I was going to have gained weight from my inactivity and not fantastic eating. I actually was down 0.5 lbs. I doubt it'll last, and it was probably just because I've been sick, but it was nice to see! I usually gain weight when I'm sick.

Anyway, here's hoping to a better week this week. There is going to be more sweets and Christmas cooking around, so I'm hoping to get lots of sweat time in to try and off set it just a little bit!

  1. I think it's awesome that you're learning how to play hockey. I think I need to add that to my bucket list. :)

    1. It is sooo much fun! Once I got over the initial feeling of being terrified, and learned the rules! It's expensive to start up from scratch, gear is about 50$ a piece, and there are a lot of pieces! If you're not sure, you should try and borrow gear until you know whether or not you like it!

  2. If I could ice skate I may put learning how to play hockey on my bucket list - maybe I will start with learning how to ice skate.
I hope you are feeling better now and can get back into your normal habits (eating & activity).

    1. It's fun! But it's scary to learn! Falling without hockey gear on sucks!

I pinned the soup recipe under my soups board. It's just a picture of the recipe, so I can't really send it to you, but you can find it on my Pinterest!

  4. Way to stay active even when you don't feel good. I've always gained weight when I was sick too. Very rarely does illness make me lose my appetite unfortunately.

    1. Thanks! Yeah, that's usually how it is with me too. Even if I've got a stomach bug I counter it with high calorie foods :(
