#4WeeksFit Challenge for May

For the month of May, I'm going to be joining Kristen over at Mama & Mou and her friend Erin at Love, Fun and Football to challenge myself to be healthier and fit!

The idea is that everyone participating will come up with their own little challenge, whether it is to log your food into MyFitnessPal for the entire month, to get 30 mins of exercise every day, to boost your water intake, or whatever you want to work on.

For myself, I think I'll do a two part challenge.

Challenge #1 - Get at Least 2 Litres of Water a Day.

This won't be too hard for me on days that I work, but when I'm home, it is much harder. At work, I take my two water bottles full of water, and I usually finish one by lunch, and the other I finish by the time I go home. I usually have an additional (500 ml) glass of water at breakfast and another at suppertime. When I'm not working, I just forget to drink it! Silly as that is, it's true.

Those who know me fairly well know that I've had problems with my bladder since, well, forever. I've had recurring infections and have actually been on long term antibiotic treatments (for 10 months at a time!) twice! I was on a low dose the entire time I was pregnant and for a couple of months after. I've had quite a lot of investigation into what is causing this trouble, but the best that the docs can come up with is that I'm just prone to them.

When I'm drinking the amount of water I should be, I almost never have an issue. If I go all day and don't drink hardly any, I start to develop symptoms. It's not fun, trust me! So, I want to challenge myself to develop good habits at home as well as at work, and drink at least my two water bottles per day.

Challenge #2 - Run C25K Three Time Per Week.

This one makes me want to crawl into a hole and die, but it needs to be done. I always start the C25K program with good intentions. I do pretty well up until week 3. Then I just stop. Week 3 is hard for me apparently, and I don't have the motivation to just push myself. I need to get this done though. I posted way back in December about my goals for the upcoming year, and this one has been haunting me for weeks. Well, since the weather has *slightly* improved. I've done well with most all of the other goals, except this one. I need to work on it! STAT!

So, there you have it. I've got it all written into my Life Planner, so no taking it back now!

I'm looking forward to reading what everyone else is going to challenge themselves with. Good luck all!

  1. I give you major props for the running! I am SO not a runner. For the infections, have you tried taking a cranberry supplement? Cranberry juice always helps me when I have UTIs, and I know a lot of people love the supplement - just a thought! Great goals!

    1. Thanks! I'm not really a runner, but I want to be! I have tried everything under the sun for the UTIs. I even had a cystoscopy to see if I needed my urethra stretched. Nothing works!
